The Begining years 1977-1985 - srilanka

My name is Sashikala Sellathurai and I  was born in Negembo Sri Lanka on Tuesday August 2, 1977 at 4:30 pm IST.  My parents are Mr. Sellathurai Ambalam and Mrs. Jayarani Sellathurai.  My father's birthplace is Kurumbasiddy and my mother's birthplace is Negembo.  When I came into this world, God provided with me a great gift and that is my sister Keetha.  She is a beautiful and wonderful sister who has and always will be in my life until I die.  

I am not sure if we actually got a choice before coming into this world to choose our family and friends but all I can say is I got extremely lucky.  I have a few good memories from my life in Sri Lanka that I will like to share with you.  First and foremost, I remember the little house we grew up with my maternal grandmother and uncles.  In Negembo I remember playing outside in the front porch area and remember I used to eat tiny cement pieces from our house wall (Not sure why I did this).  I also remember riding a tricycle and loved the man who used to bring Cotton Candy and Nice for kids.  One of my maternal uncle (I have 4) used to take Keetha and me to a nearby ice cream shop in his motorcycle.  I remember the tasty Malu Paan (Fish Bun) and this Tamerine Sweet (I dont' know the exact name).
