​REQUIRED POLICIES AND AGREEMENTS

     (AREGISTRATION FEE:
    A one time non-refundable registration fee of $15.00 per dancer or $25.00 per family is due at the time of registration (FOR NEW REGISTRATION ONLY)

    TUITION PAYMENT:
    Class tuition is paid by Email Money Transfer (arunodhaya07@gmail.com) or cheque to Arunodhaya Dance Academy 2 week prior to the start of the first lesson. Please note we will not be accepting any Cash Payments.  Insufficient funds will result in a penalty of $25.00. After completing the online registration forms, Invoices will be issued to the email with Term 1 and Term 2 fees with the following due dates.  
    Term 1: July – December (Due Date June 22nd, 2019)
    Term 2: January -June (Due Date Dec 23, 2019)

    PLEASE NOTE: Credit Card and online bank payments will have the following surcharges added to the fees: 
                                Bank Payments (EFT) on new invoices 1% per transaction
                                Credit Card Payments on new invoices 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction


    RECITAL COSTUMES & FEES (This year there will be no Recital):
    Plan to budget $60– $120 per dance class for recital costumes. Recital costumes are ordered in December. Once costumes are ordered, they are not returnable! A non-refundable $50 costume deposit is due the first week in January. You may pay for all your recital costumes in full at this time or pay the remaining balance in April. Also, a non-refundable $60.00 recital fee per family will be due the first week in March. The recital fee enables all families to attend show without the extra expense of purchasing recital tickets!

    WITHDRAWALS:
    Registering for our dance session, is a TWELVE MONTH COMMITMENT!. If you are new to dance, you have through the end of AUGUST (Term 1) and FEBRUARY (Term 2) ( No REFUNDS will be issued after end of the Month (August (TERM 1) or February (TERM 3). If you must withdraw, a written notice must be given to the director 30 days prior to the withdrawal from dance class. If a withdrawal is made after recital costumes and fees have been charged, there WILL BE NO REFUND. The only exception to this policy is if a family has to move during the course of the school year or their is a unexpected family emergency. Choosing to just drop dance is not acceptable.

    DRESS:
    Dancers must be dressed appropriately to participate in class and have hair pulled back if it’s longer than chin length. The instructors reserve the right to ask your dancer to sit out if not dressed in proper dance attire. Jeans, Shorts and school clothes are NOT considered appropriate dance attire. Dancers should wear  Academy Uniform. Proper dress for the class helps instructors maximize instruction. Dance uniform may be purchased at the Academy for $30.

    ONLINE STUDIO ETIQUETTE:
    No street shoes, food or gum are allowed inside the home studio or at any space where classes are conducted. Water bottles are acceptable to bring to class. Please be respectful of all  furniture and property, the class space is not a playground. 

    ATTENDANCE:
    Being a dancer at Arunodhaya entails a twelve month commitment. Having good attendance is important to the progression of the dancer, as each week skills are taught that build on the previous week’s skills. Dancers with poor attendance slow the advancement of the class and inhibit personal growth. During recital time, if the dancer has missed too many classes and doesn’t know the choreography, the instructor holds the right to pull the dancer from that dance. 

    MISSED CLASSES:
    There are no refunds for missed classes. Make-up classes are available as an option, but are not required. IF YOUR DANCER MUST MISS A CLASS, PLEASE BE COURTEOUS AND CALL/TEXT OR EMAIL THE ACADEMY. Regular attendance is essential to ensure the personal growth of your dancer and the progression of the class. • Teachers will start dances for the annual recital in January; we ask that your child attends all or as many classes as possible to ensure he/she is fully prepared for recital. • Private classes can be booked for students to catch up on what they have missed for a fee of $25 per one hour.  If a dance instructor is sick, a knowledgeable and experienced substitute teacher will cover classes for the night. The instructor will leave a lesson plan so that students stay on track with what they are learning and do not fall behind. 

    ​BHARATHANATYAM EXAMS:
    Bharathanatyam students ages 6 & up will be entered into an examination when the students are ready. Bharathanatyam exam entries are at the discretion of the instructor.

    INJURIES:
    If your dancer is injured, they are still expected to attend class to observe. Please bring a doctors note confirming the injury. No tuition will be reimbursed due to an injury.

    CELL PHONES:
    Cell phones are not allowed in dance class. They may be brought to the academy to contact parents and should be kept in front of the Instructor. Phones will be confiscated and parents called with any inappropriate usage of phones.

    BAD WEATHER:
    Arunodhaya’s bad weather cancellation policy is NOT determined by the surrounding school districts. Weather conditions change or improve rapidly. Check WhatsApp GROUP or your email for any dance class cancellations. 

    BREAKS AND HOLIDAYS:
    The ACADEMY will have a winter break and spring break the same time as the DDSB. All statutory holidays will be observed at the ACADEMY therefore no class will be held during these holidays.

    HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
    Arunodhaya Dance Academy is closed on all statutory holidays and long weekends.

    Summer Break - Sunday June 29, 2020 - July 12th, 2020

    ATTITUDES:
    Arunodhaya Dance Academy does not tolerate any type of bullying.

    Acknowledgement, Waiver and Release from Liability and Approval of Use of Name and Photographs Person of Legal Age OR Parent and Natural Guardian of Minors 

    I certify that I am the registering person of legal age (18 years or above) OR a parent and natural guardian of the registering child who is under the age of 18 years, and there are no court orders now in effect that would prohibit me from executing this Acknowledgement Waiver and release from Liability, either on my own behalf OR on behalf of the registering child and the Approval of Use of name and photographs.

    I acknowledge that I (self registering adult) OR my registering child may participate in Bharatanatyam Dance, including warm-up, exercise, training, instruction, attendance at onsite/offsite performances and recitals, which comes with the potential for minor and serious injury. On my own behalf (self registering adult) OR on behalf of my registering child, I hereby assume the risks of participation in dance exercises, warm-up, training, instruction, performance events.

    I approve that my (self registering adult) OR my registering child’s name and photograph may be used by Arunodhaya Dance Academy to promote its business. I certify that I am (self registering adult) OR my registering child is physically fit, has sufficiently prepared for participation in Bharatanatyam dance exercises, warm-up, training, instructions, and performance events and has not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person.

    I acknowledge that my statements herein are being accepted by Arunodhaya Dance Academy relied upon by any and all sponsors, employees, instructors, organizers and administrators in allowing myself (self registering adult) OR my registered child to participate in Bharatanatyam dance exercises, warm-up, training, instruction, and performance events including recitals. In consideration, for allowing myself     (self registering adult) OR my registered child to participate in Bharatanatyam dance exercises, warm-up, training, instruction, performance events including recital, I hereby take the following action on my own behalf (self registering adult) OR on behalf of my registered child, child’s executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin and successors 

    a) WAIVE, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE from any and all claims or liabilities for personal injury, property damage or damages of any kind which arise out of or relate to my participation (self registering adult) OR the registered child’s participation on, or traveling to/from for the performance event including recitals, Bharatanatyam dance exercises, warm-up, training or instruction THE FOLLOWING PERSONS OR ENTITIES: Arunodhaya Dance Academy, its directors and officers, all event sponsors, instructors, employees, organizers, representatives and agents of any of the aforementioned 

     b) AGREE NOT TO SUE any of the aforementioned persons or entities for any claims or liabilities that I have waived c) APPROVE THE USE OF names and photographs by the Arunodhaya Dance Academy to promote its business 

    d) HEREBY AFFIRM that I am eighteen years of age or older and am acting on my own behalf (self registering adult) OR on behalf of my registered child 

    e) HEREBY AFFIRM that I have read Acknowledgement, Waiver and Release from Liability and Approval of Use of Name and Photographs and understand its contents ​

    ​The electronic signature below and its related fields are treated by Arunodhaya Dance Academy like a handwritten signature on a paper form. I acknowledge that I have read and understand Arunodhaya's Policies and Procedures above and understands that my child or adult student is taking classes at his/her own risk and agrees to hold Arunodhaya Dance Academy,  its instructors, and/or assignee harmless in the event of any physical injury to the student. and certify that the information provided is correct. It is my responsibility to advise the Academy immediately of any changes in information stated on this form.
